O Christmas Tree!

Do you remember the tree your family had growing up? Probably had one like ours! No one did a theme, or color scheme, just family heirlooms and new additions added every year! When I was little, we had to have a double needle Canadian balsam. Dad insisted! And sometimes, when the tree was a little sparse, he would stop the complaining by saying, "God made that tree!" and of course the groaning would end!  My parents would put the tree on a platform made by Dad (that lives on in my sister Chrissy's house today!) and we would go to bed. The next morning, Santa not only left gifts for the five of us, but had decorated the tree and the platform as well!  The platform was filled with little houses and people, and the train would be running when we came down the stairs. My Grandmother made a flannel runner that got stapled around the edge of the platform, and it still is decorating the platform today!

Our family tree is a lot like the one we had growing up.  We've collected ornaments through the years, reflecting our love of Disney, Dickens, Dance and more! I love putting some of my childhood ornaments on the tree too.

We used to carefully place tinsel on each branch, until a little furry baby named Kiki came into our lives! Since tinsel isn't good for kitties, we changed to hanging clear icicle ornaments on each branch.

Kiki doesn't pay any attention to the tree or the ornaments, but loves when we get out the ladder to put the star on the top of the tree!

I hope your tree this season is filled with happy memories and new traditions!
