New York Minute!

by on ‎05-21-2015 05:42 PM

As you may have noticed from my Facebook page, I made a trip up the NYC on Tuesday to visit some of our QVC friends. Meg and I drove up early on Tuesday morning to kick off our QVC Vendor tour starting at the Empire State Building with the philosophy team!

Fun Fact: for those of you that don’t know the story of how I met Steve or even what I did before I started at QVC, here’s a hint:

Yep! I moved to NYC to pursuit an acting career. Between auditions I was a waitress at this very restaurant and bar located on the first floor of the Empire State building. It was at the Heartland Brewery that I became very close with one of the bartenders aka: Steve! It was so weird revisiting the restaurant and thinking back about my life before QVC or even before Steve. You know that weird nostalgic feeling?

Anywho, after I grabbed my picture in front of the restaurant that built me, lol, we met up with a familiar face – Mari Lynn! I was so happy Mari Lynn could make the trip up to NYC with us to check out the philosophy office.

It was unbelievably gorgeous and I was able to meet the philosophy team that dedicates all of their time, energy, and creativity to everything we bring to you at QVC. I learned more about the brand and got a sneak peek at all of the magical things we have coming up for you!!! I’m not very good at keeping secrets, so I’ll just leave it there!

Next stop on the QVC tour called for a little shoe shopping (you know that’s my favorite!). That’s right we made our way to Marc Fisher’s office in the Trump Plaza. Holy shoes!!! I was so excited to spend time with Marc, his team, and our girl Cara Kohn.

I learned a lot more about Marc and his serious passion for all things shoes. His team told me that often times when they are out buying/shopping for inspiration, they will send Marc a photo of a shoe. Immediately he calls them and tells them what he likes, what he doesn’t like, what he would like to tweak and create so that he can execute a shoe that is absolutely perfect for YOU!

Also, another fun fact about Marc  -- he cracks me up!

I had one of the most delicious brownies I’ve ever had, saw some brand new shoes that will be coming to you this fall, and I even picked out a special shoe that I will have exclusively for my Facebook gals within the next couple of weeks. So yes, I’d say it was a successful visit!

Last but certainly not least we hit Aimee Kestenberg’s showroom.

Oh my goodness… it was handbag heaven. Really, one design was better than the next and I really had a difficult time putting some things down. Here’s a look at one of my favorites you can shop right now from her latest collection!

I wanted to share this photo of the showroom edible entry – does this girl know the way to my heart or what? These jars you see here are filled with different candies from Dylan’s Candy Bar and Aimee insisted that we make a goodie bag for the road… So you know I did lol!

A lot of Aimee’s show room showed some of her newest designs that are not yet at the Q, so I promised I wouldn't post photos and ruin the surprise – but let me tell you, you are going to LOVE! She is a genius! Speaking of Aimee’s genius creativity, did you know she is a three-time finalist and two-time winner of the Independent Handbag Designer Awards. Check out this unbelievable handbag made out of all Swarvoski crystals. Aimee created this COMPLETELY by hand and she told us it took her three weeks to do so. Three weeks of non-stop work with little sleep in between. Amazing!

You know I wouldn’t come home from the city empty-handed, right?! As I mentioned before about the special shoe from Marc Fisher, we saw a number of things that I can’t wait to share with you on my Facebook page, so be sure to check it out and follow along for special surprises from our visit!
