My Visit Back Home to San Antonio...and to QVC!

It's where I spent ten years of my life, raised my daughter and built multiple businesses and friendships. And I go back every chance I get! A week ago I had the pleasure of spending a few days back in San Antonio, TX visiting friends and family. It was so much fun! I played tourist in my own hometown, shopped and dined along the Riverwalk, and indulged in a spa day. Aaaah!

But the best part? I had the opportunity to spend a few hours touring the QVC Call Center in San Antonio! In my ten years there I had never been to QVC's TX location. And now that I had just surpassed the one-year-mark (hooray!) as a member of the family I couldn't wait to deliver my thanks in person to the 250 employees that help make our customers' experience a pleasure on the phones.

I was guided through the building by Denny McDonough and Lorena Gonzalez who help lead the teams at the center and ensure that calls run smoothly 24/7. I even sat in and took calls for an hour! It was so fun chatting live with folks placing orders and learned so much about what kinds of questions you have during our presentations. Big shout out to Brenda Tovar who gave me a record-fast training and guided me through the call-taking process!

Finally, I joined the entire team for one of their quarterly "Town Hall" meetings...you can tell by my cowgirl hat that I really got into the spirit!! Everyone showed up in their best western attire to add fun to the gathering. I spoke to the staff and was able to deliver in person my thanks on behalf of all the hosts for all the hard work they put in to bring the warmth and fun of shopping at Q into every aspect of the order experience. And I was touched by the thanks they gave to me in return. I felt so much more a part of one big extended family.

Every time you hear a host say "we are getting busy on our phone lines," you can be sure they are silently giving thanks to all of the call center operators across the country who are working hard. And now that I have met many of those hard workers I appreciate our family even more. So next time you call, give them another howdy from Jen!!

Here are a few shapshots from my visit...you can see more on my Facebook page anytime!
