Crunchy Quackers…..

Life-long friendships are sooo important and very special!  Recently, I went to visit my friend Joyce; by the way, we’ve been friends since we were five.  For years we had lost touch, but now she and I live very close to each other.  We don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like, but it is always a great time when we do get together!!  I was describing to her our exciting Animal theme for August which lead Joyce to explain how she made homemade doggie biscuits. I told her I wanted to make some with her, and that’s exactly what we did!

The dogs were so excited with anticipation, they knew they were going to get a  special treat!!

Before the biscuits were put in the oven—

After they came out of the oven!  Please see the complete recipe at the bottom.

The weekend after we made these, I was yard sale shopping & found an organic dog biscuit making kit which included a cookbook & cookie cutters.  I will be sure to share some more of those recipes with you another time.

On another note,  I am getting really excited for our upcoming shows on QVC’s Fall Fashion Days!!!  August 2 & 3 will be full of fall fashion & accessories—and of course, lots of FUN!!  I am excited because I get to bring you BRAND NEW items, as well as some returning favorites!!

You have asked for, and we will be bringing you NEW colors in A209928- the "DreamJeannes" Knit Denim Jacket Dark purple & Evergreen.  We will also be bringing back the original DreamJeannes  pant, our A212894 Quacker Factory "DreamJeannes"  5Pocket Knit Denim Boot Cut Pants in regular, short & tall .  I am very happy to say, this season we have brand new colors on these pants—Spice Red & Dark Olive!!  And there’s MORE-- I thrilled to be bringing you several NEW fall fashions, so don’t miss a minute!!

Please join me on Friday August 2 from 5-6 am with Gabrielle Kerr, then 2-3 pm with Mary Beth Roe.  And again on Saturday August 3 from 1-2 pm with Carolyn Gracie.

Until next time—Quack, Quack for now!

Peanut Butter Banana Doggie Treats

Here's what you'll need:

1 egg

1/3 cup peanut or almond butter (I used natural peanut butter)

1/2 cup mashed banana (approximately one ripe banana)

1 cup freshly ground whole wheat flour (store bought is fine if you don't have a grain mill)

1/2 cup freshly ground oat flour

1 egg, beaten, for glaze

Here's what to do:

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.  Lightly grease a baking sheet.

Stir together the egg, peanut/almond butter, and banana in a medium bowl; stir until well blended.  Stir in the flours and mix well. Place dough onto a floured cutting board and roll to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shape with a cookie cutter, place on prepared baking sheet, and brush with beaten egg.

Bake treats in preheated oven until dried and golden brown, about 30 minutes, depending on their size.
