HOLIDAY TRADITIONS

What is your favorite thing to do at Christmas time? Do you have any special traditions or places you visit at this time of year? We take our children to have breakfast with Santa each year. It's something that they look forward to with great joy. To be honest, Ivo and I love it just as much. It starts off with 'Mrs. Claus' singing Christmas carols with all the families. Then Santa makes his big entrance. They have face painting, artists making balloon animals, and a very yummy breakfast. We grabbed a great family photo there this year:

As you can see, Ian has his face painted as a tiger and Colette chose a butterfly. Tyler feels too old for those activities now, but he still goes along with the photos…I think he does that for me.

This was our third year having breakfast with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, so we now consider it a tradition. Today we did something that I hope will be a new tradition. My daughter Colette has been taking dance for a year and a half now, and she is really into it. She is also quite good. Ivo and I decided to take her to see the Philadelphia Ballet's "The Nutcracker".

Wow! What a show! And Colette loved it. I was a little nervous that she would get bored (she's just about to turn 5), but she was fascinated with the entire show.

We left the theatre to find that it was the first reputable appearance of snow. A good 8 inches fell in the city. That was a perfect complement to our new Christmas tradition.

Once we got home, all I wanted to do was get into something cozy…that, of course, was my Bob Mackie fleece lounger. I curled up on the sofa with the Christmas tree lit and a blanket of snow outside. The kids even had a delay for school the next day so we could sleep in a bit. Life is good.

Oh, and speaking of cozy, I have a terrific suggestion for a holiday fashion must-have. It's Bob Mackie's Printed Vest & Long Sleeve Turtleneck Set (A236488).

Yes, it's a two-piece set, which is always nice for mixing and matching with other things. The turtleneck is a mock design, so that gives you warm coverage without the fitted neckline. The vest is yummy, delicious fleece with a zipper front. On a cold day with a pair of jeans or leggings, I love sets like this. It's so wearable and makes so much sense for every day. Check out the pocket detail on the teal/white combo:

Other color choices are russet/cocoa, brown/caramel, plum/grey, red/black and teal/light teal. What will be your choice? I wish you all a wonderful week enjoying your favorite holiday tradition.

Best,

Margaux
