My Cottage Farms and Roberta's plants started arriving a few days ago, and at this time of the year, I always feel like Steve Martin in that oldie-but-goodie film, "The Jerk", when he runs up the driveway, all excited, yelling "The new phone book is here!! The new phone book is here!!" That's about how excited I get when I start receiving the plants I've been ordering from QVC since January, knowing I can finally get started with my planting!! So far,in the past week or so, I've received my Cottage Farms Reblooming Irises, in sets of blue, as well as the Rainbow set, plus my Blue Bird Rose of Shannon Hibiscus Trees and my Pink Ornamental Grass! From Roberta's I've received 3 sets of the Tread On Me Thyme groundcover, my Cliff Maids and my Meyer Lemon Trees!! I've also just opened the boxes from Gardens Alive, which contain my sets of Red and Pink Home Run Hedge Roses, and those wonderful Toad Lilies!! I have lots more coming, and I can't wait to plant everything and watch it grow, adding to the beauty of my landscape!!
Remember as you receive YOUR QVC plants, to open the boxes and set them in the garage in a sunny window, if you can't plant them right away. Be sure to add a little water to anything that might look a bit parched. Remember your plants have travelled a long way to get to you and are ready to grow strong and healthy in your garden! Be sure to review the growing guide that is included with each plant box, as well.
My very good friend, Phillip Watson of Cottage Farms, took some time in between shows recently to tape several awesome video garden blog tips for you, which I know you will find very helpful!! I've included the first one here, in this blog. Just click the button to watch and learn!
We'll have another tip from Phillip coming each week here on my blog page through the end of the QVC Gardening Season! Remember you can also review my past garden blogs from this season, to see the video blog tips from Eric Wallien of Roberta's as well! I sure have learned A LOT from those guys!!!
I'm off to do some planting!! Be sure to check out my Garden Party with Carolyn Page on QVC.com for some wonderful garden plants and tools and design items from my weekly show! I'd love for you to share your own garden photos on my Carolyn Gracie QVC Facebook Page as well! Finally check out the new additions on my Garden Party Pinterest Board when you have a chance!! I'M SO EXCITED THAT IT'S TIME TO PLANT!!
Let's have some fun in the dirt!!
XO,
Carolyn
