Welcome to Gardening Season 2013!!

by on ‎01-25-2013 07:08 PM

For many folks, January heralds the doldrums that follow the holiday season and leaves us with not much else to look forward to for a while except those often wavering New Year's resolutions! However, for gardening fans like myself, it really is "TIS THE SEASON TO BE JOLLY" in January, because that's when Gardening Season begins its preview shows on the Q!! As I write this, I have already had the fun and pleasure of hosting my first Cottage Farms and Roberta's shows of the season. It is always SUCH a pleasure to welcome Phillip Watson and the Wallien family back to QVC for another exciting season of beautiful flowers and plants and creative ideas for our gardens at home! As I am fond of reminding myself AND my QVC viewers at this time of the year, it's time for PLANNING our gardens, for a few months from now, we will be PLANTING them. Then, in May, June and July, we'll be enjoying our garden and patio-scapes while watching the fruits of our labor peeking from the ground, through the mulch, in between the carefully placed rocks in our rock gardens, bursting from the green shrubs and twining around arbors and lattices and garden gates. I just LOVE anticipating what new treasures will unfold in my garden each year and it's ALWAYS different...because no matter how pretty I imagine it will be, Mother Nature is always MUCH more talented than I, and never ceases to amaze me!

So, whether your thumb is green, brown or any lovely color in-between, I invite you to come into my Garden Party with Carolyn show, every Tuesday at 9am, beginning on February 19th and running through May, along with special presentations on other days of the week and on Garden Event days as well. I'll also have lots of shows with Cottage Farms and Roberta's on my schedule this season.  I learn new things from my good friends Phillip, Kevin, and Eric every season...they are all so talented and have such creative ideas!  My next Roberta's show is this Tuesday, Jan. 29th at 9am eastern and then the following Tuesday, Feb. 5th at 9am eastern, I'll have another show with Phillip and Cottage Farms. They have all brought in some amazing flowers and plants for you this year, and you won't find anything like this selection at your local garden shops! So reserve yours early and we'll ship them to you when it's time to plant them! We'll also have lots of decorative items like fountains, birdbaths, statuary, stepping stones and more, plus all the proper fertilizer, plant nutrients, and gardening tools to make your work easier and your results better than ever!

I don't mind rabbits in my garden...real or faux!  :-)

Be sure to "like" my Facebook page, and share your OWN gardening photos! You can also suggest items that you'd like to see on future Garden Party shows! I also have a new Pinterest Board all about Gardening, which I know you will love, so check it out when you have a chance!  Meanwhile, I've included a few of my own garden photos for you to enjoy here....and will be blogging a bunch throughout the season with more! I'll also have a cool behind the scenes Video Blog coming soon, which will show you how we get ready for our Garden shows here at the Q, and will feature Phillip Watson and the Wallien brothers sharing some terrific and helpful gardening tips!!

So....let's get to PLANNING our Gardens! They'll be growing before you know it!

See you on Tuesday morning -

Carolyn

PS:  Phillip Watson and I will be appearing at the Phila Flower Show together on Thursday March 7th at 3pm.  Come say Hello if you are there!
