Vacation!! After a long, long (OK, reeeeally long) winter, the word vacation is beautiful music to our ears. Are you looking forward to it?!! While many families look forward to the tradition of returning to a lake or a beach each year, when it comes to vacation habits of our family…variety is the spice of life. From the natural beauty of Vermont, to the lakes of Minnesota, to sipping wine in the hills of Tuscany, exploring new destinations has become our own tradition.

Exploring Italy last September was a once in a lifetime journey for my wife Amy and myself (with no kids for a whole week! Thanks for watching them Grandma and grandpa)!  And though we were far from home, we had lots of ways to stay connected while we were enjoying our getaway.  The Halo chargers kept our phones running, our Canon DSLR was a must have, and captured the grandeur and jaw-dropping beauty of Rome, Tuscany, and the art of Florence. They were stored safely in Amy’s Dooney and Bourke Bag.

2014 is going to be a much different vacation season. Our son Nick is playing on a variety of Basketball Teams, and son Josh is playing on at least four (yes, I said four) Baseball Teams. So Vacation time means… our own home. And with no flight delays, no bags to pack, and good friends joining us, that’ll suit us just fine. With an iced cold beverage whipped up in the Vitamix, and bacon-wrapped Sirloins sizzling on the grill, it’ll be proof that you don’t need to fly thousands of miles to reach your perfect vacation destination.
