Our Family's Five Year Anniversary

Five years ago today, I married the true love of my life. I'll spare you all the mushy details (and save that for him!), but I will say that I am thankful everyday that Adam is my husband. Even when I'm mad at him, he can make me laugh... even though I sometimes get even angrier because I don't want to laugh! I have always thought he was so cute and very funny. It's been an honor to see him turn into an incredible, loving father to our two girls.

Ok - I'm now doing what I said I wouldn't - getting overly mushy. So instead, how about I just share a couple of photos from our wedding? We had a small wedding in our living room, with just a few lifelong friends and immediate family. It was so much fun! Here's a picture of us with my parents.

We had the perfect minster.... Dan Hughes! Yes, THAT Dan Hughes. Not only is he a QVC host, he is an ordained minster. We are a mixed faith family, and Dan put a a lot thought into how to include both families in a way that was very meaningful and beautiful. At one point, he even started to cry. I hope he doesn't kill me for sharing that! I love Dan.

My daughter, Ava, was six years old and so excited about the wedding. She stood between Adam and me, holding both of our hands during the ceremony. She looked like an angel! I knew I would cry (I'm a crier) and I did. A LOT. Ava sweetly hid some tissues in her hand so she could be ready for me. Here's a picture of her, on the job, ready to help at a moments notice.

At one point, I was crying at something beautiful Dan was saying and I looked down at Ava, feeling overcome by emotion. She looked at me and mouthed the words, "This is boring!" Since her back was to our guests, no one saw but Dan and me. We still laugh about it. I guess even the best sermon in the world would feel like an eternity to a six year old who was ready for cake.

Here's our first photo together as a family. We have this framed in our home. Here's to many more years together!
