I'm confident that you'll agree with me when I say that this winter has been an absolute drag! Snowstorm after snowstorm, hotel stays, and just plain old cold weather --- It's just not good for the soul!!
I did my very best to fight off the 'Winter Blues' this year by taking a much needed vacation to the Caribbean with Hubby and last weekend we had a great time at the Paul Simmon concert! I promised I would share some pictures from the concert, so I figured I would throw in some other memories from our vaca as well!
We finally made it to our destination after spending a full day in the airport. I planted myself on the beach as soon as reached the resort!
We wined and dined ourselves because after all it was vacation! We even splurged on dessert a couple of nights, but do you blame us? Everything on the menu sounded delicious!
I loved starting off my day with some yoga on the beach. Seriously, does it get more relaxing?
We spent one full day sight seeing around the island. So beautiful!
I miss taking long walks on the beach!! One morning I completed 18,737 steps in one walk!! That has to be a record, right??
Of course I had hubby document my evening of karaoke! You know I could never turn down the opportunity to sing in front of an audience!!
We came home from the Carribean to some more snow, but I was determined to stay positive! Two weeks after our trip, hubby and I went to the Paul Simon/Sting concert! It was amazing! Instead of having an opening act, they combined both of the original bands for a huge live music festival.
Sting was phenomenal-- a bit skinny for my taste-- but buff and bald all the same! As for Paul Simon, when the washboard and zydeco came out, so did my South Louisiana roots. LOVE!
And OMGoodness... Sting and Paul sang "Bridge Over Troubled Water" as a duet and it was fabulous!! After the duet Sting went straight into "Every Breath You Take."
The concert was so great and I even ran into a fellow QVC Queen!
All in all it's been a tough winter, but as you can see I've kept myself pretty occupied with some fun!! With some tunes and some sun, I think I found my perfect remedy for the Winter Blues!
