Windows Open Fall Day

Hello my LCNY fashionistas...happy Indian summer, windows open fall day.  I have every window open in my house.  My mother always did that four times a year in the beginning of each season. As she would say "let the bad air out and the good in".  I find as I am getting older and of course wiser I hear myself saying and doing some of the things my Mom always did.  Both my daughters have told me that after they finish doing the dinner dishes and the final cleanup, they light a favorite scented candle. It touched my heart because I have been doing that forever .....basically letting my gang know the KITCHEN is closed Smiley Happy.....On Saturday we all gathered together at my home and celebrated my mother's  80th birthday.  My brother and sister their spouses, three of the grand kids and their significant others, and Roy all in attendance.  The five remaining grandchildren out of town sent video messages.  She was overwhelmed!..  My father gave a toast on how they met at Ohio University.  She a freshman ....he a junior..at a fraternity/ sorority dance.  They both came with different dates.  He was dancing with a friend spotted this beautiful, cute redhead across the room dancing with her date and he on purpose bumped in to them......to start a conversation.  The rest is history.  The underlying theme of the evening was how kind, supportive, loving, always there for all of us, giving to her friends, her faith, at the ready for a friend in need......the list goes on about my Mom.  What a tribute to my best friend. You and I share a friend in common....Mary Beth Roe.  Her oldest son Eric just got engaged.  She is a Mom of four as you know and inspiring to all she meets.  I am very lucky to work with her on Wednesday mornings.  So join us tomorrow and we can congratulate the mother in law to be..bring your cup of joe and your friendship.  Several new items...a cross body bag, sweater coat, and the debut of our boot...oh my.
