ARE YOU READY FOR SOME TURKEY?

I am hosting Thanksgiving this year. No big deal, right? Truth be told, we have always gone to my parents’ or the in-law’s houses for Thanksgiving. I have happily shown up for 31 years bearing pies and treats for all. I’ve become the best hostess gift-giver ever. My four children sat me down and said, "Mom, it is time to start memories in the new home." They are right. This is the year of new beginnings, memory-makers, and, of course, new traditions. So let the games begin! Or should I say, the cooking!

So what is Thanksgiving all about, aside from the feast? As you know, this past week MBR lost her Dad, a wonderful gentleman from all that she has shared with us. She went back home to be with her family and friends – to share stories and memories, reminisce, eat, laugh, cry, play games, and feel the comforts of home. I know she was thankful for her time with her family. MBR's version of Thanksgiving came early. I am thankful and blessed to be able to prepare this meal. I am no Rachael Ray or Martha Stewart, but I am a mom, daughter, sister, and aunt. We will share a wonderful meal together, laugh, tell stories, tease each other, and remember the first Thanksgiving in our new old home.

That being said, traditions are important and so is the one we started with you on our Wednesday morning show…THE NEW YOU. Even though the show is not back on until January, we will continue bringing you a NEW YOU item. Why not? You deserve it. This week’s item is our Liz Claiborne New York Cotton Cashmere Turtleneck (A236652). It is part of our cotton cashmere collection. It’s awesome to the touch, fits true to size, and most definitely helps you style the town and country look. Kevin took the pic of me in front of our fireplace. Yes, I am the matriarch of my gang and the hostess with the most thankful heart this Thanksgiving.

What are you thankful for this year?

Have a wonderful holiday!
