The 2015 Philadelphia Flower Show--in Photos!

Hello, foodies…

It was truly my pleasure to attend the Philadelphia Flower Show again this year. The 2015 theme was "Celebrate the Movies" and films from Disney and Pixar were featured like...The Nightmare Before Christmas and one of my all-time favorite movies, Ratatouille, because I love the theme of the movie...anyone (even rats!) can cook.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Ratatouille Soup

It just so happened that the Garden to table Studio (where I did my presentation) was right next to the Ratatouille exhibit and one of the recipes I made in my demonstration was my Ratatouille Soup.

Garden Veggie Dip in a Bread Bowl

I also made two other recipes…Garden Veggie Dip in a Bread Bowl and a Fruit Salad Parfait.

Fruit Salad Parfait

All three recipes are light, bright, and best of all…open to interpretation. You can use virtually any vegetable—or type of bread—in my dip. We used tropical fruits in my Fruit Salad Parfait, but you can berries, melons, or a combination therein. And, you can top it with my Cranberry Honey Nut Granola, if you like. Other root veggies only enhance the flavor of my Ratatouille Soup. And, that recipe freezes well so you can double the batch and freeze half for later.

The whole In the Kitchen with David team accompanied me to the show…including Chef Andrea and our girl Mary.

And a special guest popped by at the end of my presentation just before her own demonstration…recognize her?

We had such a wonderful experience that I bet we’ll be back there again next year. Keep your calendar open in early March! I’ll blog with you again tomorrow, as usual, and I'll see you Sunday for In the Kitchen with David at Noon ET.

Keep it flavorful!
