Hello, foodies…

This was yesterday afternoon….

David's Home!

And, today, I’m home! Thank you all, so much, for your kind words on Facebook…I did have a wonderful vacation but am happy to be back. And, I’m looking forward to seeing you this Sunday for In the Kitchen with David.

We’re getting you ready for some football this weekend on QVC!

David in the La-Z-Boy

I had the very difficult task of trying out the new La-Z-Boy Today’s Special Value® for tomorrow and did NOT want to get out of it. It’s OVERSIZED...just like me!

So the chair debuts tomorrow, then Sunday we’re making the ultimate game-day recipe. WINGS. But not just any wings…we’re making Bacon Ranch Chicken Wings!

Bacon Ranch Chicken Wings

Bacon-Ranch Chicken Wings

Serves 4

Ingredients:

Sauce:

  • 1 (8-oz) container sour cream

  • 1 (8-oz) jar mayonnaise

  • 1 (1-oz) package ranch seasoning and salad dressing mix

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 4 Tbsp real bacon bits

  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped

Wings:

  • 24 chicken wings

  • 1 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1 tsp celery salt

  • 1 (1-oz) package ranch seasoning and salad dressing mix

Preparation:

  1. To prepare the sauce, place all the ingredients listed above into a small bowl and mix until well incorporated. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hours, or overnight.

  2. To prepare the wings, place the wings, pepper, celery salt, and ranch seasoning in a large plastic bag. Close the bag and shake it really well until all the wings are evenly coated. Refrigerate and marinate overnight, or at least 8 hours.

  3. Place the oven rack in the middle and preheat to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease with oil spray. Remove the wings from the plastic bag and place them on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake until cooked through, and the skin is crispy, 40–45 minutes. Let them rest 3–4 minutes.

  4. Place the wings into a large bowl and add half the sauce. Toss until evenly coated. Serve with the remaining sauce on the side for dipping.

I HIGHLY recommend these, foodies, and would be willing to bet they’re much better than what you’d get from the pizza shop down the street. If you’re looking for other game-day foods you can serve at your party, here are a few ideas:

Game Day Foods

That’s a small assortment of the gourmet foods we offer here at QVC and one of my recipes….Philly Cheesesteak Dip with the Bella Brand Beef. You’ll also see the Perfect Gourmet Chicken, Pork, or Vegetable Potstickers, Cheryl’s Buttercream Frosted Football-Shaped Cookies, and Corky’s Hickory Smoked BBQ Wings.

Squirrel Brand Mixed Nuts

And no party of mine is complete without a party mix…the Squirrel Brand Original Town & Country Artisan Mix is awesome—and it’s one less thing you have to make.

If you’re looking for some decorating ideas, my good friend Jill Bauer shared some fun ideas today in her blog. Go check them out. I’ll see you Sunday at Noon ET.

Keep it flavorful!
