Hello, foodies…

I’ve been talking about decorating my home for the fall for WEEKS and just couldn’t seem to find the time. But yesterday, I buttoned up my Bethlehem Lights display and I think it looks great. What do you think?

Fall Decorations

I took a peek to see if the mums and pumpkin arrangement are still on QVC.com and they are. In fact, they’re on clearance! If you’ve got space for a few more decorations—or you want to stock up for next year, now’s the time to grab these!

We’re moving right along with our Classics with a Twist theme for October. This Sunday, we’re making a milkshake. But not just any milkshake. We’re using some of the Harry London chocolates (which are included in Sunday’s Today’s Special Value®) to make a Dark Chocolate Lava Cake Milk Shake.

Dark Chocolate Lava Cake Milk Shake

Dark Chocolate Lava Cake Milk Shake
Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 4-1/2 cups chocolate ice cream

  • 6-oz piece of chocolate cake, cut into small pieces

  • 12 Harry London Dark Chocolate Lava Chocolates

  • 1-1/3 cups milk

  • Whipped cream (optional garnish)

  • Raspberry sauce (optional garnish)

Preparation:

  1. Place the ice cream, cake pieces, chocolates, and milk into a large blender. Process for 60 seconds, until just smooth. (It's nice to have a little texture from the chocolates.) Pour into milk shake glasses. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and raspberry sauce, if using.

This recipe is prepared with the Harry London (5) 1-lb Nutcracker or Village Tins of Chocolates (M44755).

Foodies, I’m convinced that milkshakes—and mac and cheese—are meant to be enjoyed year-round. Not only will we show you how to make the shakes, but we’re also unveiling our October Mac and Cheese this Sunday…my Chili Mac and Cheese!

Chili Mac and Cheese

Your blog question today is what’s your favorite kind of milkshake? Are you a chocolate malt fan? Is vanilla still tops? Or is strawberry supreme? I still love to make a chocolate chip cookie milk shake…it’s something my mom made for my brother, sister and me growing up. Vanilla ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, and a cherry on top. MMMM!

I’ll see you Sunday at Noon ET. The lovely Rachael Ray will be in our kitchen with some brand-new cookware a few other goodies. Join us on In the Kitchen with David…we’ve got 10 weeks until Christmas, everyone!

Keep it flavorful!
—David
