You're Home with Jill: Remembering 10 Years

As I'm sitting here starting to write this, I have to tell you, I have a smile on my face.  To reflect on 10 years of this show makes me so proud.  We've come a long way since those first shows.  But in a certain way, those early shows were some of my favorites.  We were pioneering a new way to watch QVC.  We showed before and afters, had me do all the demonstrations, used different types of cameras so I could walk all over the set and be followed wherever I'd go.  There were no guests, and the quick pace of the show was unlike anything QVC had done before.  I would spend my free time making finished samples of craft kits and coming up with cookie recipes.  And then on the day of the show I'd show up hours before to set up,  bring in my own props from home, and get things ready for the show.

I was exhausted.  But it was exhilirating too.

Over the years, the formulating of the show has become a little easier.  I'm lucky that QVC has buyers who trust my judgment and will buy products to my specifications.  In the early days of the show, my planner and I would have moments of panic because there just weren't enough products to fill the show! Now, we have different buyers offering products on a regular basis. It is a lot of fun to choose from their selections and offer my ideas on product development.  The best part is finally getting those products on the air to share with all of you.

I wanted to do this show because I love being at home.  I love the thrill of finding a new something to add to my decor, or just being surrounded by things I love.  I am not an interior designer.  But,I hope the way we put things together inspire some design ideas for your house.  My hope is that over the 10 years  you've watched You're Home with Jill, you've found a few "thrill" items too.  And that while you're watching each month, you're surrounded by the comforts of your own home.

Thank you so much for your support and ideas for this show.  Our anniversary shows are looking tremendous and will include products I've wanted to feature for YEARS!

I hope we can spend time together August 29 and 30th.
