Do you know someone who owns a KitchenAid® Stand Mixer?  Do you own one yourself?  The KitchenAid brand is in homes across America and here at QVC we are celebrating our 95th Anniversary.  Take a look at the history of this iconic brand and check back to see how QVC is celebrating!

The history of the iconic KitchenAid® Stand Mixer began with an encounter between a baker and an engineer in Troy, Ohio. The year was 1908, and Herbert Johnston was watching a baker mix bread dough with an iron spoon. Convinced there had to be a better way, Johnston set to work developing an 80-quart electric stand mixer. Less than seven years later, professional bakers across the country had an easier and more efficient way to get the job done. From there, grew a portfolio of high-performance kitchen appliances, all created with the same attention to detail, quality craftsmanship and timeless design.

Key dates in KitchenAid® history:

1919 MODEL H-5 IS INTRODUCED

The Model H-5, the first stand mixer for the home, is introduced. Called “the best kitchen aid” by an executive’s wife, the brand is born, and the KitchenAid trademark is registered with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. The Model H-5 offers attachments that do everything from slicing to straining, branding KitchenAid® stand mixers as versatile “food preparation tools.” Interestingly, these early stand mixer attachments will fit any KitchenAid stand mixer today.
