You Can Decorate Your Cake And Eat It Too -- See How The Littles Get Festive For Easter!

Instead of putting the Littles on a COMPLETE sugar-high, we skip the traditional Easter Basket candy and decorate a cake together. We've been doing it for years and I love to see how different each cake turns out as the Littles get older and their cake decorating ideas AND skills mature.

Here are some pictures from this year's cake decorating. The theme: A Day at the Bunny Races! :-)

Because bringing the Littles to the grocery store usually results in WAY too many snacks and lots of whining, I usually pick up the ingredients and candy toppings myself and let them work their magic with whatever I bring home.

Middle Little is a pro in the kitchen, so he usually gets the cake prepped to be baked.

Once the cake is made the Littles are ready to dive on in to the decorating process. It's taken a couple of bad experiences for them to learn to let the cake cool before starting their creation!!

It looks like two littlest Littles actually sneak more candy toppings into their mouth then on the cake!! ... So THAT'S where all the toppings went.

I'd like to think they get their sense of creativity from their mother, because they come up with some really great ideas! The theme of this year's cake was "A Day at the Bunny Races." :-)

Here is the final product! Can you believe there is a cake under ALL OF THAT?! So much for skipping the sugar high!
