Luck Smiles Upon the Q

by on ‎03-26-2013 02:18 PM

For the past two decades, in the middle of March, the Q celebrates St. Patrick's Day with guests and imports from the Emerald Isle. This year luck was definitely on the shoppers side, as our Irish friends brought uniquely Irish jewelry, handcrafted bakeware, and traditional clothing from across the Atlantic. The Studio Scoop team was lucky enough to be behind the scenes to partake in the spirit and warmth of the event.

Host Jane Treacy kicked off the event sporting her handcrafted Aran sweater as she welcomed in our Irish guests, eager to share their goods (and accents) with all of you at home. The crew backstage couldn't help but be captivated by the whimsy, the stories; every piece handcrafted not only with Irish hands, but also with Irish hearts. Every item had a story, a tradition, a history behind every little nuance - something that is uniquely Irish and makes the shopper realize that a beautiful ring is more than just shining sterling.

One of the highlights of the day, was Irish celebrity chef, Neven Maguire.  He lovingly shared recipes from his cookbook using Belleek bakeware - the perfect accessory for any Irish breakfast.

Throughout the day, guests presented their items and filled the Q with a spirit that couldn’t be described as anything but contagious.  After all, St. Patrick's Day is not about being Irish, it is about celebrating a heritage and culture that is known around the world for its kindness, warmth, smiles, and uplifting spirits - and maybe a dash of luck in there!  With qualities like that, I think we can all say we  enjoy being "Irish" at the Q on St. Patrick's Day!
