Hello, foodies…

Just yesterday I was on the phone with my mother and she asked me a familiar question: "What should we have for Easter dinner this year?" What she meant was, what else should we have besides ham, because we Venable's tend to enjoy big meals with more than one main course! So, I told mom about  Wednesday's TSV from Smithfield. Not only can you get a classic honey-glazed ham in time for Easter, but you can also get a slow-roasted, fried-to-perfection turkey breast in the same order!

This Wednesday on In the Kitchen with DavidPM Edition, we're making two recipes to accompany these fine entrees…a Side Stuffing with Artichokes and Cremini Mushrooms and an Orange Pineapple Ham Glaze. Find out more in this video clip...powered by Dell!

Your cookbook update for the week is on…paper. Believe it or not, deciding what paper to use in the cookbook was not as easy as it sounds. Some books have glossy pages while others are matte. Some books are bigger with thin, writing-paper like sheets to accommodate more recipes, while others books are thinner with pages that feel as thick as photos. What made the most sense for us? What did our budget allow? In the end, we decided on matte pages so our camera lights won’t reflect off the pages and prevent you from seeing the recipes when the book goes on air! And, we decided on a heavier weight that’s likely to withstand a splatter or two while you cook. Who would have thought such a simple thing would be so important? Not me!

Now here's your blog question: What's going to be the centerpiece of your Easter table? Will you do a ham, a prime rib, a turkey, or a combination? Hit "New Reply" and share your plan. I'll see you this Wednesday at 9pm ET. We're together until Midnight ET. We've got 10 items under $30! Join us!

Keep it flavorful!
