Now's the Time to Plant Your Kitchen

What a little color can do... I can't believe it's already starting to happen, but it is!  Here's a photo of a pretty little flower that popped it's head up out of my flower bed this week.

Beautiful! Spring is my favorite season, and here’s why. For several months now, my backyard has been all shades of gray, brown, tan, and beige—with a little evergreen here and there. Now, quite suddenly and without warning, I'm seeing a pop of blue. This made me venture out into the garden to see what else was going on. That's when I discovered that the tulips are starting to push out of the ground and the black Sambucus shrubs have started to bud! I can't even remember what color the tulips were that I planted last fall, but I know I'm in for a spectacularly colorful treat in a month or so. I can't wait!

I don't have a lot of color in my house. My kitchen is white, my floors are wood, and most of my furniture is dark brown. Seeing this, you might think I'm opposed to color, but that isn’t the case at all. I think my white kitchen and dark brown furniture sets the backdrop for other colorful things to really shine. I love having a vase of colorful flowers around, and almost always do. Their bright colors really pop and add vibrancy to my home. That's what you're going to see on Wednesday March 7, when I'm on QVC with our Today's Special Value.

When I first saw what you’ll see on Wednesday, my jaw dropped. I've been around the kitchen world for almost a couple of decades now, so it takes a lot to really wow me, but I was wowed. I've had this special item in my kitchen for a few months now, and I love it. Of course, I can't say too much about it, because that would ruin the surprise, but let me give you this to think about. If my kitchen were my garden, I'd be looking forward to seeing the poppies, delphiniums, gladiolas, daisies, and foliage that’ll make my backyard vibrant. It's time to plant your kitchen folks!

See you Wednesday, March 7 at Midnight ET!
