Hello, foodies…

I can't tell you how much I look forward to reading your blog responses each and every week. No matter what the question is, you all respond with great answers, fantastic ideas, and fun comments. This week, I was THRILLED to hear that so many of you are planning to make a special dinner at home this Valentine's Day…even if you're just cooking for yourself. (There's nothing wrong with treating yourself now and then!) So be sure to join us this Sunday on In the Kitchen with David for the best part of your special Valentine's Day menuthe dessert!

I'm excited about our "Cookbook Corner" titles this week. Yes, titles…we have two brand-new books for you! Both are from Southern Living (F09655) and both are priced at less than $20. The first, Comfort Food, is one I'm particularly passionate about, as you might guess! It has everything from BLT Potato Salad to Chicken Pot Pie…over 150 recipes in all with color photos. The second is Classic Southern Desserts, which has over 200 recipes. How does Fried Strawberry Pie sound? Or Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake? As always, we'll have several featured recipes to show you Sunday…don't miss the presentation!

"David's Recipe" this Sunday is sure to tempt your sweetheart's sweet tooth! We're making my Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle Tart. I have to tell you…this recipe is just incredible. It's rich, it's decadent, it's the perfect combination of salty and sweet, and it's a CINCH to make! We're using the brand-new Technique Set of 2 Kohaishu Knives (K36174) to rough-chop the cookies and serve the dessert. You can find the recipe on QVC.com.

"Food for Thought" is all about bringing a restaurant-like atmosphere home for your Valentine's Day meal, so it's that much more special. First, make sure your table is covered with a nice tablecloth, then set it with your special china and silverware. (Remember, you're celebrating! It's the perfect time for special place settings!) Next, find some candles. Reserve one or two for the table and use the rest to create a warm ambiance throughout the room. Third, music. Pick something you both actually like, instead of something you think you should play. And finally, consider making a menu for the table. Here's an idea of what those could look like. (Feel free to use all the recipe ideas below. All except the steamed asparagus can be found on QVC.com):

Appetizer

Easy, Elegant Lobster Bisque

Entree

Bacon-Wrapped Beef Tenderloin with Red Wine Sauce

Sides

Mashed Potatoes Three Ways

Steamed Asparagus

Dessert

Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle Tart

Time for your blog question. Since we're making a dessert this Sunday, and sweets go hand-in-hand with Valentine's Day, what's your all-time favorite Valentine's Day treat? Do you love that box of chocolates? Or do you make a special dessert like a chocolate lava cake? I look forward to reading your delicious responses. I'll join you in the kitchen this Sunday at Noon ET! See you then.

Keep it flavorful!

David
