Dear Ones,

by on ‎08-25-2009 03:11 PM

I am recovering from shoulder surgery (bone spurs that sliced and diced everything in sight!) and will have to wear my sling at the Meet & Greet this Friday at QVC studios, and of course during my TSV launch at midnight....so be prepared for an unusual show...

NEVERTHELESS, I am really excited to present one of the most triumphant heart necklaces of my entire career as my TSV. It is gorgeous, gutsy, weighty, smooth and sensual, drapes perfectly on the neck, and very worth its price but...IT IS LIMITED!!!
Only 5895 pieces, so if you like what you see don't hesitate too long.

Most of my air time on SILVER DESIGNER DAY, (this Saturday, Aug. 29) will be devoted to the theme of hearts, crosses and iconic symbols of POSITIVITY. I will be on from midnight to 2am then, prime time Sat, morning (EST) from 9-11am. I'm thrilled to be a part of a very unique day on QVC whereby many new designers will be introduced including my CFDA peer, Dean Harris, a real talent!

Below I have listed an important page to visit: it announces that I will be receiving a major honor, the Designer of Distinction award from Silver Marketing International, and you are invited to log in and
send me a message.
You will be able to watch a video clip of me receiving the award during my on air appearances.

I wanted to shout out to Pat 22 best of luck with her recent move to Indiana and for her family to adapt and thrive in their new digs. Also a prayer for healing to DMTiara, my favorite scribe on the forum. I am typing with one finger, and everything I try to do now is complicated by the pain in my arm and the sling; I admire all the people with disabilities and physical/emotional/psychological issues that hamper living life to its
fullest...one can't appreciate overcoming these obstacles until one suffers personally from them.

On another note, I must say that this year is shaping up to be one of those stellar highlights in my 40 year long career; there has been an extraordinary amount of press coverage of my work, especially from the powerful collection of couture level jewelry I made for Donna Karan's fall runway show. My collaborative efforts with her reached a high point this year!!! While that group is quite expensive and a bit over the top, it does raise the bar for creativity and drama during a time when most companies are downsizing their products to sell. By the way, guess whose bold silver jewelry is constantly adorning the body of Fergie, the superstar performer of the Black Eyed Peas???? I get such a kick out of seeing my classic dramatic work being worn on stage by gyrating dancing
singers, and seeing that it's NOT FALLING OFF! ha ha ha ha ha...that is actually a real concern for me...how embarrassing for the jewelry designer when performers swing their arms and an ill-fitting cuff flies off into the audience. YIKES. I have so many hysterical stories to tell.....but seriously, despite the hard times I believe that it is more important than ever to be even more inventive and daring so as to be a beacon of light
in the darkness. The role of the artist has always been to lift the spirits of the people and activate the spirit of wonder when society stumbles into fear.

Artists must be like cheerleaders for society, and rouse them from their general malaise. Anyway, that has always been the driving force behind my intentions...and INTENTION is more than half the battle towards success and recovery.

See you all this weekend...rah rah rah!
