January Artisan-Crafted Event

by on ‎01-21-2010 02:53 PM

Hopefully everyone is staying warm and dreaming of spring. I just returned from a quick five day surprise visit to Mother in Louisiana. It definitely helped raise her spirits.

How about a trip around the world stopping in seven different countries in three hours with no jet lag? Sound impossible? Not at QVC! Next week be sure and tune in for the first Artisan-Crafted Silver Celebration. There are many new styles and some of my favorites that have taken us from six to twelve months to get back in stock. I have all of the fantastic jewelry spread out right now in my office and everyone is oohing and ahhing over them.

The event kicks off at midnight on Tuesday, January 26 with one of the most beautiful and unusual Today's Special Values that I have ever seen. It is designed by Dominique Dinouart who will share the unique handcrafted process that produced it. We don't have a lot of them and it could sell out at midnight, so please don't miss it.

Tuesday night from 9:00 to midnight, Jill and I will be on with an amazing selection of jewelry. There is a new pendant and earring from Bali that has the most beautiful mother of pearl in gray or white. The quality of the mother of pearl is exquisite and has a bright rainbow effect in every piece. Remember when Carnelian was a bright orange color? There is a ring and bracelet with discs of Carnelian that were cut decades ago. Early carnelian like this is hard to find today. Countries visited during this show include Nepal, Mexico,
China, Thailand, India, Indonesia, and Turkey and I will be sharing stories of the artisans and their special techniques. We have new video footage to really help take you to each location.

The trip continues with the launch of the first Artisan Crafted Silver from the Andes. Special stones found only in the Andes Mountains are used in several of the pieces. Six of the most unusual textures, developed by the artisans, come together to make a most unusual beautiful cuff. There is a pendant with a very special animal on it and designs taken right from the Aztec calendar. I can't wait to share stories with you of my trip to Machu Pichu and you will never guess what you have to do beforehand to prepare for the trip.

The journey around the world continues Wednesday night, Rick and I will take you on a journey to six different countries. Two of my all time favorite artisan crafted pieces are back after many, many months. Both sold out immediately over a year ago. The new items in the show include a fabulous turquoise ring (don't forget, Turquoise was named the color of the year), a magnificent pendant from Turkey that is a masterpiece and earrings that were woven from silver thread.

Please don't miss any of the Artisan-Crafted shows and do call in and say hello. I love hearing from you.

Thank you for your suggestions for future blogs and please keep them coming.

Take care, Peyton
