Sterling Designer Gallery Event

I love all the comments, please keep them coming! Right now I am sitting at my desk with trays of jewelry from the upcoming Sterling Designer Gallery. WOW, what a spread. There is so much to talk about but I have to start with Judith Ripka .

Judith's Today's Special Value is stunning. The choice of tiger's eye, Turquoise, and Diamonique or Amethyst, Mother of Pearl, and Diamonique is right on and has the look of high end couture. The 18k gold leaf is gorgeous and resembles, to paraphrase Ella B, an impressionist masterpiece. The gold leaf, used in Judith's pieces is actually a very thin sheet of 18k gold. It is hammered until thin and very malleable. The gold leaf is placed over the stone, either turquoise or mother of pearl in this case, and a faceted crystal quartz heart seals in the gold. It is a complicated process and every heart will be slightly different. STL GAL, hope this helps. Let me know if you want more info. The matching ring is fabulous and the earrings could be worn to the upcoming Academy Awards.

Other new items from Judith include a suite of turquoise jewelry including a cuff, dangle earrings, ring, cross, and bold pendant. There is also a new collection of pink mixing faceted rose quartz with pink and white Diamonique. The ring is stunning and is one of my favorite pieces. There is a lot more including a spectacular pearl and Diamonique dangle earring, a clip earring with baguettes and rounds, and probably my favorite piece of the show, a magnificent round ring that looks like a piece right out of a Fifth Avenue Jewelry Store. STL GAL, J138636 and J138625 are scheduled for the March Show.

I am meeting with the factory that produces Judith Ripka jewelry tomorrow afternoon and will report back on their comments. All of your concerns will be addressed. Nicurn and LADYFISH, thank you very much for writing in. The hosts for the show, Lisa R and Pat, have been alerted to explain how the clasps work. All of your other comments have also been noted and I will address them soon.

There are many other fabulous designers on the day. Barbara Bixby has two new couture pieces that have Blue topaz center stones and pave diamonds. Barbara has utilized enameling in two other pieces that are quite beautiful. Thomas Mann, is an animal lover and through his arts and crafts type of feel is bringing cats, dogs, and birds. David Sigal , as always, is big, bold and fun and I can't wait till you see his animal prints. Hagit Gorali, from Israel, is premiering on Designer Day and is inspired by nature using organic shapes, textures and colors. Her jewelry is feminine and has flowing very sexy lines and dimensions. Last, but certainly not least, Robert Lee Morris has outdone himself. His bold necklaces, earrings, and rings are beautiful. For 2009, the year of the necklace, Robert's show is not to be missed.

Sorry but I almost forgot three hot Try Me's that will be introduced during the day. The dashing Michael Dawkins has a beautiful twisted sterling earring with his signature rondels. They are available in Lemon Quartz, Crystal Quartz, or Rose Quartz. Once again, Judith Ripka wows us with a gorgeous pink jade heart shaped enhancer with station chain. Anthony Nak has a pair of sterling silver earrings featuring bezel set faceted marquise Lemon quartz, 14K yellow gold plated sterling silver fine link chains, round turquoise cabochons, and wood grain texture accents.

WOW, what a day. Take care and let me know your thoughts.
