Mother's Day

This weekend I was in Louisiana visiting my Mother. Thank you all for asking about her health. She is still on her walker but is much stronger and can actually drive herself to different activities. I am confident that she will be on her cane soon. I have enclosed a picture of Mother with the newest addition to the family, her Great Granddaughter, Palmer. Mother is a huge fan of our artisan crafted jewelry so please notice the chain and pendant that she is wearing. Mother bought them during a Silver Market Place show here at QVC.

Unfortunately, I don't get to go home as often as I should and haven't been there since January. I am so fortunate to be blessed with a loving, supportive, and healthy Mom. She is an inspiration to my brother and sisters and me and anyone that she has ever come in contact. Through her, we grew up with a strong sense of integrity, conscience, and spirituality. Mother raised four healthy, successful children while actively participating in giving back to the community. She was President of so many clubs and is now on the boards of many more.

Two years after my Father passed away in 1987, Mother married a close friend of the family whose wife had passed away about the same time as my Dad. They have had a wonderful 19 years together and started a new chapter in their own lives.

Mother and Charlie have made over 50 medical mission trips of one to two months each all over the world including Yemen, Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, India, South America, Bangladesh, and Mongolia. Charlie would do surgery while Mother would do everything from cooking, washing, counting pills, teaching English, working with the children and assisting in the clinic.

You can see where my love of travel comes from!

Bess Browder Kelley Black is a true inspiration and a modern day hero and I love her very much.

Take care and don't forget to reach out to someone that you love on Mother's Day.
