Wrapping up the holiday

I can't believe that Christmas Eve is a week from tomorrow. My Christmas shopping is not finished. We finally got the Christmas tree up and decorated on Saturday. Azalea Mall Garden Center, where we always get our tree, was down to the last eight trees. Not wanting a Charlie Brown tree this year we went over to the JC lot and found a beautiful six foot balsam. It is now sitting in my living room and covered with white lights (it is always a big decision to go with color or white lights), Christmas ornaments collected over the last 30 years, and glass ice cycles. The nativity scene is on the mantel and the Dickens Village may or may not get put up.

I was telling Christy, the 18k gold buyer, that I was still looking for last minute gifts and she showed me the magnificent Arte d'Oro 18k gold pieces that are coming up on December 20. WOW, some of the most gorgeous jewelry I have seen. The Today's Special Value is a fabulous charm bracelet with 28 carats of gemstones. The coordinating earrings are a perfect match. There is a new color version of the Cultured Freshwater Pearl Cluster Bead Ring done in chocolate pearls that is fantastic. The real WOW was a turquoise and gold nugget necklace that is one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry. I looked it up on dotcom and it had a great customer rating. I am going to recommend that my Step Father buys this for my Mom. She deserves it.

The next few weeks are going to be a blur. I am sitting in my home office in Richmond, Virginia writing this and thinking of the week ahead. I will be back in the office at QVC in West Chester tomorrow morning for another week of meetings finished off by a two hour Silver Market Place on Sunday, December 23. More about that later. On Monday, December 24, I am off to Louisiana to spend Christmas with my Mother, Stepfather, two sisters and their husbands, brother and his wife, three nieces and their husbands and three great nieces. This is the only time of the year we can all get together and it will be great.

I hope all of you have a very Happy Holiday.

Take care, Peyton
