A Little 'Sneak Peek' of St. Patrick's Day & the Inspiration Behind Some of the Pieces

by on ‎03-05-2015 10:07 AM

Now that its March, I am excited that St. Patrick's day is almost upon us.

We have lots of new items coming to the St Patrick's day celebration, and I am giving you a little 'sneak peek' at a few of them and sharing the inspiration behind the pieces.

Whilst writing my book on The History of Connemara Marble, I found one of the earliest souvenirs created from Connemara marble. Dating from the 19th Century, these little shamrock charms were made in simple workshops and sold to the early tourists who came to visit Connemara . In later years soldiers going into battle used to carry these charms with them to keep them safe.

Inspired by this we have designed a new stretch bracelet (will be available for purchase soon).

On our quarry we have a fairy tree, and it was part of the inspiration behind the new tree of life pendant (will be available for purchase soon).  The way the branches are twisted from the wild Atlantic winds show the rugged strength of these hardy trees, and the leafs  are actual Connemara marble stones!  I also had come across a Victorian  piece of jewelry that I saw in a little shop that inspired the design too.

I think this is a beautiful piece, and am really proud of what I am bringing to QVC.

The countdown is started, and I will look forward to seeing you all soon.
