The Mysterious Triple Spiral Designs Found at the Newgrange Monument in Ireland

North of Dublin, in the valley of the river Boyne, lies the Newgrange Monument.

Built over 5,000 years ago, it is the world's oldest covered building and pre-dates the Pyramids and Stonehenge.

It is a large circular mound with a stone passageway and chambers inside, and the outside and interior are richly decorated with mysterious triple circle designs carved into the stones.

What is truly special is that on only one day a year, on the morning of the winter solstice, a ray of sun lights the passageway and illuminates the inner chamber completely, throwing the sun’s light on this triple spiral design on the wall of the chamber.

This ritualistic capturing of the sun is a feat of astronomy, engineering, geometry and mythology, and the significance of the triple spiral designs still remains a mystery to this very day. We can be sure it was an important part of this ancient  and sophisticated culture.

Inspired by this awesome place, we have designed the new Artisan Crafted Sterling Connemara Marble Newgrange Ring (J294774) that will air on Thursday, September 18th between 4 – 6 AM and 1 – 3 PM ET.

I look forward to sharing more stories with you then.

Also, we will have the Artisan Crafted Sterling Silver and Connemara Marble Rosary Bracelet (J294479).

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
