Dear Friends,

Last week, I received a wonderful note from a customer, who wrote the following:

     Dear Judith,

I love your jewelry. I have been collecting for many years and always tune in to your QVC shows. Recently, I have been reading your blogs and trying to learn more about you and the inspiration behind your designs.  It amazes me how creative you are. But, I want to know what people do not know…the behind the scenes, so to speak.  Beyond design and jewelry, the little known facts that make you who are. I feel like I know you when I watch you on TV, but of course, I am curious to know more. Please tell us more!

And, thank you for designing such beautiful jewelry.  It brings me so much joy when I put it on in the morning.

            Sincerely,

            Martha, Charlotte, NC

Martha’s note really got me thinking.  I know exactly the feeling when you think you know someone; however, you don’t know the details or the “little known facts,” as Martha says, that make someone who they are.  So, I thought that it would be fun to play a little game in this blog called “Did you know?”  Below, please find a list of personal / fun questions – they are “did you know” questions.  You know, the types of questions that you would say, “Oh my goodness…did you know [FILL IN THE BLANK] about that person?”  Here is the fun part – as we have all become so friendly in the forum, I thought we could all post our answers in the forum, in response to this blog, to get to know each other better.  Scroll all the way to the bottom to see the answers to my questions.  See how many you can answer correctly about me!

I am very excited to check the forum in a few days to see everyone’s answers.  We also just played this game in my office.  My team had a great time learning “little known facts” about each other.  It was a great team building exercise.  Thank you, Martha, for your inspiration!

Without giving away all of my answers to the above questions, I have to share part of my answer to Question #6 – What are the top 3-items that you pack in your suitcase when you go on vacation?  The first thing I ALWAYS put in my suitcase and have ever since my very first plane ride is a picture of my family.  As most of you know, my #1 priority is my family; therefore, surrounding myself with photos of them always makes me smile, especially when I am on the road – for business or pleasure.  One of my biggest pet peeves is that somehow my photos always get crinkled and bent and never seem to make it back to NYC the way they left.  I realize that with today’s technology of cell phones, iPads and more, many people keep all of their photos online.  That said, I guess I am a bit old-fashioned, and I like to touch and hold my photos.  To me, there is nothing more powerful than a photo – a picture always speaks louder than words.  But, for years, I have been thinking to myself that there must be a better way to travel with my photos.  I thought of wearing a locket charms and cutting small photos of my boys and grandchildren to fit in the small frame; however, some cutting those tiny photos never seems to do the photo justice.

So, for quite some time, I have been working very closely with QVC to come up with a solution, which I will debut on my upcoming August shows on 8/29 at 4:00-6:00 AM, 12:00-1:00 PM, and 10:00-12:00 AM.  Drumroll please – it is with great pleasure that I will present to you my NEW photo charms, J286745.  It is my modern day version of a locket charm, but better!  It is so easy – take a picture and email it to QVC, then QVC will customize a charm with your favorite photo of your children, grandchildren or even your pet.  They are available in 2-sizes, small and large, as well as 3-color ways, silver, yellow or rose gold.  Both sizes fit on any chain, but if you would like to purchase the coordinating chain, I have created a new shot-bead necklace, J283822. in 3-lengths, 18”, 20” or 36”, which is available in silver, yellow or rose gold to match perfectly.  I am very excited about the photo charms because they are such a personal piece of jewelry which tells a story.  The perfect way to always have my grandchildren close to my heart!

From L to R:  My granddaughter, Jamie, in the small rose gold charm; my beloved, Pookie, in the large silver charm; and, my granddaughter, Katie, in the large yellow gold charm.  Both Jamie and Katie are David’s daughters.  The chain featured in this photo is the silver shot bead chain.

From L to R:  My granddaughter, Gabby, in the small yellow gold charm; and, my grandson, Jesse, in the small silver charm.  These are Allison and Brian’s children.  And, the chain featured in this  photo is the yellow gold shot bead chain.

In addition to the photo charms, I will be debuting many other NEW designs during my upcoming shows, as well as bringing back some of my best-sellers and past TSVs.  To keep the summer vibe alive, I am excited to launch J285707, the Sterling Blue Topaz and Turquoise Ring.  This is a beautiful blue topaz and turquoise cocktail ring features 6.00 carats of faceted Blue Topaz as a center stone with a row of prong set Diamonique stones around it, as well as another row of small pave set turquoise beads around the Diamonique. What I love about this ring is that it is for every season, not just summer.  This ring will transition you into fall and add a pop of color to your grey and black ensembles, as well as take you into the holiday / resort season with its bold hue.   It is the perfect piece for anyone who loves the colors of blue and also has a beautiful matching pendant.

I am also very excited to bring back J34999, the Sterling Gemstone & Diamonique Heart Bracelet.  This bracelet is a past TSV, and QVC will offer it “While Supplies Last.”  This gemstone heart bracelet is available in either amethyst and mother of pearl (with 18K yellow gold foil in doublet) hearts or ginger quartz and Tiger’s eye hearts. It also includes Diamonique accents and bead drop with Diamonique and gemstone cabochon on the bottom. It is great starter piece or the perfect addition your collection to wear alone or layer with your other Judith Ripka cuffs and bracelets.  As you know, I love to say, “More is more and wrap your wrist in luxury!”

Again, thank you for all of your love and support.  I am very much looking forward to learning more about everyone.  And, did you already know the answers to my questions or did you scroll ahead and peek?  Either way, I hope you have fun with my “Did you know?” game, and please tune in to my upcoming shows on on 8/29 at 4:00-6:00 AM12:00-1:00 PM, and 10:00-12:00 AM.

Until then, with much love,

Judie
