Spring Has Sprung!

Hello Friends!

For those of you who live in the New York area, I know you will appreciate the title of this blog.  The weather has been simply beautiful, and I, like many other New Yorkers, have a kick in my step with a fresh, new season about to begin!  Everything seems more upbeat – people seem friendly, the air smells sweeter, and I am more excited than ever about my new designs and my upcoming shows this week on QVC.

March is always a very special time for me on QVC, because it is my anniversary, and this year marks my 15th year on QVC.  I will be celebrating this special occasion with more new product than ever, as well as what I think is my most exquisite TSV to date!

Before I give you a sneak peek at some of my new March pieces, I thought I would take a trip down memory lane and share with you two photos from an article that the New York Times published on me in 1997, 15 years ago, the same year that I launched with QVC.

These photos make me smile, as they capture a moment in time when my business was still relatively small, I only had a few of my own stores, and was brand new to the QVC network.  What is so remarkable is that 15 years later, I can honestly say that I feel the same excitement about creating new designs and exploring the journey of my business and all that is yet to come.  It is also important for me to express my sincere gratitude for each and every one of you, as it is the love and support that I feel from all of my wonderful customers, which sustains me and continues to inspire my passion for jewelry design.  If you want to read the complete text from the article, it is available here.

So, fast forward 15 years to today, and I have to pinch myself when I think about so many women enjoying my jewelry.  One piece that I am particularly excited to debut in a new range of colors is J157141, Sterling Diamonique Eclipse Drop Earrings, which are best known as my “Oprah” earrings.

What I love about these earrings is that they truly embody my desire to create jewelry for EVERY woman, as this classic style appeals to women of all ages.  In the same day that I was sitting with my sister at lunch who was wearing the earrings, my 17-year old granddaughter asked me for a pair and reminded me that one of her favorite actresses, Kelly Rutherford (star of the hit show Gossip Girl) was seen wearing them right after they were featured on Oprah’s Favorite Things.

Please check out this blog where they were featured after they aired in Oprah's show!  I hope you enjoy the new debut of my new colors.  Which gemstone is your favorite?  Also, please write in and let me know what colors you would like me to add to this Eclipse Drop Earring collection?  I was thinking that every season I should debut more gemstones in this classic design.

I am also very much looking forward to debuting my signature Aurora cuff in sterling silver exclusively for QVC.  I debuted this Couture Collection piece in 2007 after Ron and I traveled to Canada and experienced the magic of the Northern Lights and Aurora Borealis.  Inspired by the magnificent beauty, I immediately started sketching what would become one of my most recognized and well-known pieces.  I have provided my original sketch from 2007 below, and it is with great joy that I will debut the piece, J267178 (Judith Ripka Sterling Aurora Gemstone Hinged Cuff), on QVC, for you, my cherished QVC customers and dear Ripkanistas.

Lastly, I want to end with a pop of color, because what better way to say spring than with a Turquoise doublet.  Bright and bold, yet deep and mysterious, turquoise doublets glimmer in shades of teal.  Doublets are a wonderful way to play with color, and duality of 2 different gemstones combined with custom multi-faceted creates a bold look in my new pieces, J267165 (Judith Ripka Sterling Gemstone Doublet 3 Stone Ring) and J267166 (Judith Ripka Sterling Gemstone Doublet Earrings with Pave Diamonique).  Be sure to tune in to my shows later this week where I will be presenting these items for all to see!

I could write much more, but I don't want to give too much away, as I want you to tune into my shows starting on March 22 from 11pm to midnight, with a TSV at midnight.  Then, continuing on March 23 from midnight to 2am, with Allison, my gorgeous daughter-in-law, taking over the reins at 1am, so that I can catch a cat nap.  Brian, my son who you all know and love, will go on air from 3am to 6am, making it a true family affair.  I will be back on air later in the day from 3pm to 5pm and again from 8pm to 10pm.  As if that weren't enough, I will also be on air on March 24 from 6am to 8am, 4pm to 6pm, and again from 10pm to midnight.  I will be a very busy lady, but my 15 year QVC anniversary will certainly be celebrated in style with over 15-hours of Judith Ripka jewelry airtime!  I'm looking forward to every minute of it, and I hope that you are, too!

With much love,

Judith
