Great Gifts for Your BFFs! What Does Lisa Buy for Her Closest Friends?

It's the most wonderful time of the year (are you singing yet?) It's time to treat the person (or people) who know you better than you do: your best friend(s). What do you get...and better yet, how do you make a gift feel more personal?

Most of you have seen pictures of me with two of my best friends...Leslie and Kym. What goes through my mind when I'm shopping for them? Especially because they really do have everything?

In a lot of cases, if I don’t know what to get, I keep my eye out for a great piece of jewelry. Leslie likes really bold, really cool eclectic jewelry so I keep my eye out all year for something I know she’d like. If you see it in March—and you know she’d like it, you’ve got to grab it.

For Kym, I look for jewelry that has a connection to a trip we’ve gone on together. So I’ve given her an Egyptian Hamsa Hand (which is said to protect you from Evil) and an Indian Diety Ganesha (to whom you have to honor with a gift before entering his temple).

Jewelry is always a great gift because you know she’ll like it if it fits her style or has a connection to an experience you shared.

If your best friend isn’t a jewelry person, a laugh is a great gift—you can never go wrong with funny. I’ve given Leslie and Kym funny cards, pithy magnets, and other little things. Sometimes those little things mean as much as the big ones.

I'm really looking forward to seeing them this year...we don't have a specific night when we exchange gifts, because we don’t live close to one another. If Leslie is coming into QVC, she’ll come over and we exchange. If she’s not coming down, I’ll head up to New York and visit for the holiday. Kym and I normally travel together in January so we exchange then.

I love this video with Leslie. She's going to be chatting with you on Friday night for A Lisa Robertson Christmas! I hope you'll join her on my FB page.

See you Friday at 10pm ET. Smiley Happy
