There are always people on your holiday list who deserve something special. A gift they’re really going to enjoy. Something that’s going to make an impression. Something that’s "posh.” But, what is "posh?" To me, a posh gift is rich in its experience. It may be rich in texture, palette, or style, but there’s definitely something special about it. It doesn't always have to be expensive, yet it tells someone that you really put some thought into this gift. This Friday, December 7 at 10pm ET, I'm hosting a whole show, Posh Presents, dedicated to just that. ... Continue Reading

Ok, time to quit fooling around and really get some gift shopping done! Even if you aren't an early starter, the time has come. I'm sure there are a lot of people on your gift list this year and you can't spend a million dollars on each of them. So here's a list of gifts under $50. I thought that might help you get started.

Rather than ask if your child has asked to play on your smart phone, I’m just going to ask: How many times a day does your child ask you that? Around my house, it’s a lot!
Tablets can be a great outlet for everything your kids like to play on your phone or tablet— except you always have to worry about what they’re doing on the Internet or that they might break your phone.
The big question I’m getting from everyone in my path is "Which tablet do I buy my child for Christmas?" Hopefully, I can help you un-muddy the waters on thi... Continue Reading

Three years ago this week I was in labor with Georgia. Actually if you ask one of the 3 nurses that cycled through the 24 hours that I waited in that hospital before they finally yanked her out, I was never actually in labor. Excuse me but that is B.S nurse number 3. 24 hours of a pitiocin drip, and contractions 2 minutes apart is labor. Technically I never dilated much and she was taken out of me via c-section after it was clear, that even 10 days late, she wasn't coming on her own. But I earned my stripes with her from November 22 to 23rd 2009.

It can be hard to continue to be a happy smiling face on TV, selling toys and clothing while our neighbors are suffering from the impact of Hurricane Sandy. It's an image and a sound that’s locked in my memory banks for all time. It started while listening to my records as a teenager in Minnesota — that moment when I brought home a new vinyl and put it on the stereo. The anticipation of tunes when the arm of the stereo would slowly move over, gently touch the record, and you'd hear those scratches as the needle touched the vinyl. It was usually followed by my dad saying, "Turn that down, are you deaf?" Long live rock and roll, Dad! Wait! I'm aging myself again. And don't tell me you're too young to reme... Continue Reading

I was just sitting down to write my annual QVC holiday blog with one train of thought in mind. I'm unceremoniously throwing this good ole’ brain of mine in reverse and totally switching gears for you fine readers. The reason for this is a simple list. Recently at QVC, we program hosts had an opportunity to go “window shopping.” Basically, all of our merchants and vendors unloaded their sleighs full of goodies into a huge conference room. One of my favorite things about the holidays is gift shopping. I love searching for just the right present for my family and friends. Sometimes I get ideas from things that have been given to me, or I jot down little notes throughout the year when my husband or best friend make mention of something they'd like to get "someday." This year, I'm really trying to use the theme of "practical luxury" to guide my gift selections. I think we've all cut back on spending, shopping, and little treats for ourselves. Oh yeah you’re right, that was three months ago! I will say once November got here I did start to feel the holiday spirit. Typically I like to make sure each holiday gets celebrated so you'll never see Christmas décor in my home when the trick-or-treaters are outside. Life for me this year has seemed more chaotic and complicated, so my motto right now is to simplify. With that said, the gifts I'm buying for my family and friends this year is all about practicality. Maybe that sounds boring, but think about it — if you give them something they'll use almost every day, then they'll remember you almost every day! Or if it's something that makes their life easier, then they'll thank you repeatedly!
For example, for anyone who has to cook for mouths to feed, why not give them something from the Temp-tations line? I bake and serve with my Temp-tations dish... Continue Reading

I should probably say right off the top that the Boesing family Christmas is a big production. What this means is that growing up, Christmas started a week early and lasted through December 26, my brother’s birthday.
What were we doing a week early? Secret Santa. A week before Christmas, our family would gather around the kitchen table, put numbers in a hat and, with great ceremony, each person would pull a number from the hat and make a big show of destroying it (i.e. eating the slip of paper) so no one would know their person. The rules of Secret Santa weren’t hard. Basically,... Continue Reading
