A day to remember...

The time has FINALLY come! I have just received my wedding pictures and I could not be more excited to share them with you all!

On June 19, 2014, Sean and I were set to be married at the most magical place named Oheka Castle. Built in 1914, the castle is located in Long Island, New York. We chose to have our wedding there because of the beautiful gardens, baroque motifs and overall exquisite architecture and design of the building itself.

I felt so blessed to have my entire family and close friends that flew in from Australia for the big day in addition to all my friends from out of town which made it all the more special.

I am not going to sugar coat it, planning the wedding all on my own was extremely stressful and being the absolute perfectionist that I am, well… you can imagine! However, I have no regrets, I could not have asked for a more perfect day and couldn’t have been happier with the way that everything went. It was truly the best day of my life.

The Dress…

Finding your perfect dress can be quite the task! After running around Manhattan trying at least 50 different dresses of all shapes, styles and designers I ended up selecting a dress that was the total opposite of what I thought I wanted! It’s important to keep an open mind in searching for your dress as the different fabrications and bridal cuts will fit everyone’s body shapes differently. I worked closely with the amazing team at Bergdorf Goodman and bridal designer Ines Di Santo to design and construct the most magical gown. I learnt so much about the construction of bridal dresses during this time. When I finally saw the finished gown it blew me away.

Since this was a Spring wedding I had selected a color palette that was soft and calming consisting of Lavender, soft Moss, distressed Silvers & Crèmes. I designed the Lavender bridesmaids dresses and really chose this color because it’s a color that is very flattering on all skin tones in addition to it being one of my favorite colors. I also want to thank the team at John Hardy Jewelry for the beautiful earrings I wore with my gown. I had bought my bridesmaids gifts from the JAI by John Hardy collection at QVC.com, they have a fantastic selection of elegant gifts.

One of the big challenges with weddings is finding reliable and affordable wedding or event vendors. I did a lot of research into vendors and had such a fantastic experience with the ones I used and I have shared their information below here for your reference! Overall, we had such a blast and even had some of my favorite ladies in attendance.

Sometimes its easy for us to get caught up in minor problems or stressful situations but its important to take a step back, put things into perspective and remember how precious life is and how lucky we are to have special moments like these to remember with the ones we love. My father-daughter dance and laughs with Sean, my family and friends will be forever cherished.
