Happy Summer (Officially!) Need a New Outfit...or Two?

by on ‎06-20-2013 06:28 PM

Even though it’s felt like summer for a few days, the official start of the season is Friday. (Can you believe it?) I can't think of a better reason to go shopping. And, because I know you're thinking the same thing, thought you wouldn't mind a few suggestions. Enjoy. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Work/Life Balance

Items like jackets, shells, and blouses are great crossover pieces that be worn casually or formally. A jacket, especially, can look entirely different, depending on how it’s being paired. The jacket in this Look (Work/Life Balance) is a good example of one that’s really cute when worn casually with a T-shirt and jeans. (That’s how I usually wear it.) But, if you pair it with a blouse of a finer fabric and a dressier pair of pants, it’s something that will make you look great in the office. The key is to take one item that can be casual and pair it with other more tailored pieces. Too many casual things together just ends up looking...casual.

 Madame Attache

The Madame Attaché Look is one that uses the Dooney & Bourke Dillen Small Leather Satchel. (There's a lot you can tell about a woman from her handbag!) This is a Look for a woman who invests in high-end, timeless bags, but is ok with a little more structure. It's for a woman who wants to make a statement with the brand and the style, but does not want something too showy. If you want understandable and high-end, everyone knows Dooney.

Runway to Reality

Want to look slimmer? Go monochromatic with this Look: Runway to Reality. Wearing the same color head to toe creates a longer vertical line that can be very slimming. Contrast draws your eye. With one color, there's no contrast, so your eye keeps moving and settles on your face, not the other things you're self-conscious about.

Color Your Summer

Orangey shades are in for summer and orange is all about energy. Need a boost today? Maybe dragging a little? Give yourself a boost in orange and treat yourself to this Look: Color Your Summer. It’s a color of energy and creativity…kind of a red without the edge, if you will. It makes you stand out in a crowd and never makes you look shy.

I’ll see you tonight at 6pm ET for Vicenza jewelry then at 9pm for B. Makowsky handbags!
