Life List: Go Treasure Hunting!

One of the biggest challenges in my life is finding quality time to spend with my friends. I'm sure you can relate…you get so focused on what you need to do…you end up procrastinating what you want to do! Life's short, ladies. Go out and play!

 

 

For some weekend fun, I decided to spend some time exploring a local antique store I'd been meaning to visit with my pal Wendy. The Brandywine Valley in Pennsylvania is a mecca for treasure hunters like me. There are antique shops around every bend…and Brandywine View Antiques always catches my eye. It's a beautiful white Victorian, absolutely spilling antiques, crafts, and architectural salvage. My kind of place. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think of antiquing as treasure hunting. I love unique items with a bit of history, and you never know what you'll find when you start looking. From a tennis racket to surprise Jayne at our upcoming tennis lesson to linen sachets, jewelry, and old fashioned carriages, to interesting garden tools and oversized chairs—can you imagine the size of the table? It was so interesting to pick and poke through items I couldn't find elsewhere.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Later down the road we found a bookstore that I could get lost in for days...Baldwin's Book Barn. It's huge…a five-story trove of treasures! So many books, so little time. Of course I could not resist the 50%-off garden books...and the charm was complete with a lovely black cat, too. All bookstores should have a cat. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Altogether, it was a wonderful, memorable afternoon with a dear friend...perhaps the best way to spend a day. Next on my life list, I think I'll take time to smell the roses.
