DIY Hand Warmers -- An Easy, Homemade Gift!

by on ‎10-17-2014 05:08 PM

Hi, everyone!

It’s pretty tough to stump me when it comes to gift ideas. I’m surrounded by some amazing items each and every day here at QVC, so I seem to find presents for almost everyone on my list. But, I’ll admit that I love putting something personal in my family's stockings or having a little something for holiday guests, my kids’ teachers, their friends, the list goes on...

This year, that little “something” is a pair of hand warmers!

DIY Hand Warmers

To make these, find:

  • 2 pieces of felt

  • Rice

  • Sewing machine

  • Funnel

  • Thread, to match felt

Then:

  1. Cut each piece of felt in half and decide on a shape you want to make.

  2. Sketch the shape onto all four pieces of felt with a pencil.

  3. Place the felt on top of each other and cut out your shape.

  4. Sew two of the pieces together leaving a 1” opening. Repeat with the other pieces.

  5. Using a funnel, fill each pocket with rice. (You pick how much rice you want the warmers to have.)

  6. Sew up the opening.

  7. Warm them up in the microwave for a few seconds and hold on tight!
