QVC Sprouts is born!

by on ‎03-12-2012 12:29 PM

For more than 25 years, QVC has been digging around for seeds of inspiration from inventors, innovators, and big thinkers.  If you remember back to 1995, QVC conducted a 50-50 Tour across the States to search out new products from these very people.  Can you imagine QVC without Quacker Factory, Junior’s Cheesecakes, or EZ Movers?  Its products like these that breathe air into the hopes and dreams of entrepreneurs and inventors worldwide.  QVC wants to harness this karma again and search out the best of the best with a modern approach---thus QVC Sprouts is born!

You may be wondering, WHY would QVC need product?  Here’s a little insight to that oft asked question:

  • QVC, Inc., one of the largest multimedia retailers in the world, broadcasts live in the United States 24 hours a day, 364 days a year.

  • QVC is available via the broadcast, QVC.com,  and mobile apps

  • QVC attracts more than 22,000 on-air guest visits each year, showcasing more than 1,000 products each week!

Now, if that last statistic doesn’t get your creative heart racing, I don’t know what does! We need more than 1,000 products each and every week.  52 weeks a year.  Oh, and did you see the second bullet point?  We also need product for QVC.com.  That smells like opportunity, doesn’t it?

So what exactly is QVC Sprouts?  It’s an on-going program that focuses on discoveries, big and small, that leave you wondering, “How did I ever live without this?”  The program officially launches Monday, March 19th.  But we’ve been priming the soil for awhile now.  I’ve had the opportunity to discuss the program on Live Radio Talk shows and speak with countless inventors.  The excitement is palpable and the right side of my brain is pulsing with ideas swimming around.

Next week, I’m joining a six member team from QVC Sprouts at the Housewares Show in Chicago.  There we will join forces with the United Inventors Association to look at LOTS of products and speak with the inventors behind them.  You can get all the information about the event at:  http://www.submitmyinvention.com/qvc-sprouts/

You can find more information on QVC Sprouts by typing the words “QVC Sprouts” into the search bar on QVC.com, or click here.

As QVC has become one of the largest global retailers, they know a thing or two about growing businesses. At the same time, QVC also wants to stay true to their roots, working with entrepreneurs
