A Recipe for Gift Giving

I don’t know about you but my Christmas Gift list seems to grow every year. I always want to recognize friendships & people who have been important to me during the year.  Personally, I find it overwhelming to do shop for each individual person. To make it easier this year I’ve developed a recipe for giving.

Step 1:  Make a list.   It’s important to write down the names of everyone on your gift list that way the chances of forgetting someone are slim.

Step 2:  Have a budget and stick to it.  Don’t get caught in the trap that you have to buy expensive gifts.  Something that comes from the heart is the best gift of all.

Step 3:  Buy in bulk.  In other words choose items with multiple pieces so you can stretch your dollar and creativity when checking off your list.

Step 4:  Carefully pick your ingredients and purchase.

Step 5:  Once your ingredients arrive, turn up the Christmas music, light some candles and start baking!

Ingredients:   (Feel free to substitute)

1 - Design Scapes 101-Piece Gift Wrap, Bag, Ribbon and More Set (around $36 with S&H)  (I hate to wrap presents and love that this set has 41 bags.  It makes my life a whole lot easier!)

1 - Cheryl's 75-piece Holiday Baked Goods Sampler (around $49 S&H is included) (I love giving Christmas cookies, but I don’t have time to do a lot of baking.  Cheryl’s Sampler makes it simple to give holiday cheer & because there are so many pieces, everyone gets cookies!)

1 - Philosophy set of six 3-in-1 shower gel holiday ornaments, 2 oz (around $41 with S&H) (Shower gels from Philosophy are always hit no matter what time of year. I love that these are disguised as holiday ornaments.)

1 - Set of 6 A Joy to Give Candles w/ Gift Boxes & Tags by Valerie (around $45 wit S&H) (I chose these not only because the candles smell divine, but because they come with their own gift box & there are 6!)

1 - Set of 4 3.5" LED Color Changing Holiday Ornament Set (around $23 with S&H) (A holiday tradition for me for many years has been to give ornaments.  I fell in love with these little guys when I saw them!)

Total Investment around $219 (My budget was $250)

Serves 12 to 15 friends or more.  Gift bags range in price from $10 -$25.   FYI - I had bags, wrapping paper, tags, and ribbon left over for next year and was even able to munch on the extra cookies.  {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Here’s a sample of some of the gift bags I whipped up:

This is a $15.00 bag

I wish you and those near and dear to you a very Merry Christmas!
