My Panama Hat from Puerto Rico

I enjoy Puerto Rico for its beauty, great weather and easy access. I also love shopping in Old San Juan. The colorful buildings and blue cobblestone streets are a sight to behold.

 

On a recent trip I stopped into a hat shop and was fascinated by all of the choices. The hats were all made by hand and took anywhere from three to thirty days to make. I decided on a natural colored woven hat which they sized perfectly to my head. I then got to select the ribbon for the crown which they also applied by hand to complete my custom hat. It was perfect to keep me shielded from the glowing Puerto Rican sun and it looked kind of cool too!
