Somethings are just meant to be! My daughter had a dance convention in New Jersey.  The hotel was sold out, and we looked for another place to stay close by. There were many hotels, and we randomly chose the Embassy Suites.  So on the day we checked in, we were surprised to see Irish flags decorating the hotel, joking they knew we were coming! Imagine the surprise when sitting in the lobby was none other than Stephen Walsh!!

He was part of the Ceade Mille Failte Irish trade show, held in the hotel for the last 25 years. I had no idea!! Stephen then told us that Barbara Campbell from Inis, Eve Harbourne and her Dad from JMH jewelry, and Kieran Costello of Kilronan knitwear were also in for the weekend. Now when dancers are in a convention weekend they are busy all day, so I usually fill my time with reading, walking, and knitting. Not this weekend! Sean and I had a wonderful time catching up with our friends over breakfast and lunch. Deirdre got to meet Barbara and they bonded over their mutual love of Inis Rose fragrance.  Stephen and I sat down and brainstormed new jewelry designs for upcoming shows!

The sound of bagpipes filled the atrium of the hotel to signal the start of the show. I still could's believe my good fortune to have an unexpected weekend with my Irish friends.  One moment I will never forget is that on Sunday morning we began the day with Mass.  It was in a hotel conference room, with no windows and chairs set in rows.  However, it was one of the most joyous religious services I have ever attended, and will always remember the moment we joined hands and voices in the Lord's Prayer.  Not only did I feel lucky, I also felt blessed!!
