Thanks!

There is a wonderful book called “thxthxthx: Thank Goodness for Everything” by Leah Dieterich. It’s a collection of handwritten thank you notes. What’s interesting about the notes is that they are not exactly written to “people” -- they are written to the “things” that the author is grateful for every day. She wrote a Thank You note to Air, to Words, to Clean Sheets, to Burnt Toast. The book is one of my favorite gifts to give because it’s a reminder that there is always something to be grateful for, and that there is great power in a Thank You note.

I read my copy of “thxthxthx” often

Which brings me to my friend Venita whose birthday party I attended recently. It was a fun time, and I has happy to be part of the celebration. This week I received a Thank You note from Venita. Along with the handwritten note, she included clippings with her favorite words of affirmation. Like the book, her note reminded me how grateful I am for good friends, and that Thank You notes are personal touches that leave lasting impressions.

November is when we collectively take time to give thanks. How nice when every day is thanksgiving day!

Happy Thanksgiving,
