Get Inspired! Spring Cleaning & Decorating

I remember when I lived at home, spring was always a time when my mother made us do the real deep-down house cleaning.  I’m talking everything—we scrubbed the baseboards and walls, moved the furniture to vacuum underneath—the whole nine yards. That house sparkled by the time we were done.  I have to give her credit because she did such a great job of teaching us how to clean (even though it wasn’t something we looked forward to) and I still use her tips and tricks to this day.



I’ve tried to pass the same cleaning standards on to my daughters Lauren and Chelsea (I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all their help over the years!). After the heavy lifting and scrubbing, the fun begins—time to decorate! Every season I change the color scheme of my table runners, napkins, flameless candles, pillows, etc.



Then I incorporate fresh flowers as a nice finishing touch. I love the feeling of a clean house, but I love the fresh look and feel of springtime even more. What are some of your cleaning rituals and favorite aspects of spring?
