Strawberry Sauce For Your Sweetie…

A while ago I mentioned that I “made up” a sauce for ice cream, and many of you wrote to ask me for the recipe. Well I am happy to say—here it is!!

1 quart of fresh strawberries

¼ cup sugar

¼ cup water

A shot of liquor – Frangelico, Amaretto, Nocello  (this is optional)

Wash & hull the strawberries, then slice. Place the strawberries, sugar, water & optional liquor into a small saucepan. Cook on medium until the mixture bubbles & starts to thicken. Stir often.

Once the sauce thickens, remove from heat and let cool.

It is great to serve over ice cream or any other dessert. Or it make a great gift! Enjoy!!

I used a cookie cutter to make heart-shaped ice cream. Put it in the freezer right away so it doesn’t melt!!

Serve it up for your sweetie—or for yourself, you deserve a treat! I added a chocolate heart for extra sweetness!

Or simply put the sauce in a jar as a gift for someone special! Don’t forget a pretty bow!!
