The National Christmas Museum - A Trip Back in Time!

In case you missed my visit to the National Christmas Museum last weekend on QVC, I wanted to share a little bit about the Museum. It’s in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Paradise PA. This is a great representation of what Christmas was like in years past.  A nostalgic time before technology evolved into what it is today. A simple time with simple but meaningful things.

The founder, Jim Morrison, wanted his visitors to “see Christmas through the eyes of a child” just as he did years ago.

He spoke about when he was young and purchased his first Christmas decoration from Woolworth’s for ten cents. In one of the many rooms in the museum, there is a replica of the Woolworth 5 & 10 store of the 1950’s just as Jim remembers it, and all of the pieces are part of his personal collection. It's pretty amazing!

There are over 20,000 square feet of scenery including a train room, Santa's Workshop, and Tudor Town.  There are also life size characters that take you on a journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem. One Nativity is nearly one hundred years old!

So, If you’re ever in Paradise, PA, be sure to stop in and say hello to Jim AKA Santa!
