Halloween is one of my favorite times of year.  As a child, you get to play "dress up" in public and get free candy. As an adult, you get to feel like a kid again!  In our house, we like to make it a family affair. We have done a family of vampires (and they just LOVE fruit juice. That's why their lips are so red, right?), Little Bo Peep and her sheep, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, and Hansel and Gretel and the Witch.  This year my son, Desmond, is Batman, my daughter, Kaylee, is Batgirl, and my husband, Langdon, will be The Joker with me as Catwoman.  My kids are fans of the Adam West TV series from the 60's, so it was the natural choice for them this year. 

There are so few opportunities to really enjoy the whimsy of this holiday with them, so we are giving it all we've got!  It's amazing to see how much they've grown, and how much their tastes change from year to year.  My husband and I both come from performance backgrounds, so we take full advantage of having fun with the kids!  We also get to be professional candy holders.

At the end of the night, we go through our stash, and my kids already start planning for next year. So, please let me know: what was your favorite Halloween costume? Leave your comments below!
