Hello Mackie Fans! I’m sure you are in the midst of holiday planning and shopping. I have been bitten by the holiday bug, and I am in full gear for planning menus, décor and fashion ensembles for the upcoming holidays.
I so enjoy this time of the year! It’s so festive, warm and jolly. Everywhere you turn there is a reminder of the season. It is also a time that we are reminded to think more of others…family, friends, co-workers and even those who we don’t even know.
I am planning a full-on vintage, old-fashioned Christmas celebration for Christmas Eve. I just love planning what the table will look like. We are doing the table linens with sage, covered in burlap toppers tied at the corners with sage and cranberry ribbon. The chairs will be natural wood with cranberry cushions. We have to have 3 tables this year because the guest count is so high. One table just for the kids! How the families are growing!
Ivo and I have thought about a rustic menu to accompany the old fashioned theme. We’ve been trying out a couple recipes. I can tell you that they all are beef…beyond that we’ll see.
Aside from the table and menu planning, I have fun thinking about what I’ll wear as well as the kids. My boys really don’t care, but Coco, my daughter, is now at the age that she loves picking out clothes and dressing up.
My crew recently had breakfast with Santa, and it was so much fun! The kids had their faces painted and sat with Santa. I thought the faces looked a bit Bob inspired with the designs and colors!
It was one of those times when I needed to be relaxed but cheerful with my outfit so I chose Bob Mackie’s Sequin Cable Front Long Sleeve Cardigan (A217777) in Cranberry for my Christmas touch.
I wore a black skirt, black tights, and black shoes (all your favorite basics), and then I put this on and I practically heard Jingle Bells playing immediately.
It’s cozy chic with a classic cable design down the front. The sequins have a little play of color and, of course, sparkle when they catch the light.
Whether it’s a black skirt like I wore or just a pair of jeans you’ll find yourself reaching for this one over and over for that splash of holiday cheer!
There are so many things on the calendar this month it’s hard to keep up. The last thing we need to worry about is what to wear, right? Here are some other great options that would be perfect to wear during the holidays or to gift to someone:
A229268 Bob Mackie's Mock Neck Long Sleeve Knit Top and Sequin Vest Set
The mock turtleneck offers nice coverage for warmth without having too much in your way. I find myself reaching for my turtlenecks almost daily because the temperatures have gotten cooler. Take advantage of wearing the turtleneck with other things in your closet. Then, add the pizzazz when you layer the sequin vest on top. Imagine how you will sparkle and brighten the room in this lovely ensemble. You may even find yourself wearing the vest over another shirt that you have!
Make sure to check out the customer reviews for this. One of them was from a brand new QVC customer who had never purchased a Bob Mackie item before. Another customer shares a great recommendation for a pant to go with this set:
A13015 Bob Mackie's Wide Leg Regular Length Knit Pants
This is an extremely popular design by Bob. The merlot choice would be your “red” color, but there are many other colors to choose from…you have to hurry though, they go quickly!
Continuing with the “holiday red” theme, here’s something for those of you who want something that is a little more casual. It’s also for anyone who loves Bob’s embroidered floral designs, which are incredibly popular.
A92175 Bob Mackie’s Embroidered Floral ¾ Sleeve T-Shirt
This is the red, which is one of the eight color choices. Each color does have a different embroidered flower. The red is a rose. It’s done beautifully with tonal embroidery, contrast stitching and the perfect amount of rhinestone accents.
This is a customer top rated shirt. Many of the ladies who have purchased this top have commented on how soft it feels on their skin and how nice the fabric is. The blend of 65% polyester/35% rayon does give it a wonderful drape and helps to keep the shape.
What are your plans for the holidays? Are you hosting or traveling elsewhere? We would love to hear what you plans are. The holidays are the perfect time to be festive in a Bob Mackie Wearable Art design.
