So guess whose co-workers threw them a surprise baby shower? ME! And the funny thing was I came very close to missing my own party!  Every month the host team has a meeting to review the upcoming Today’s Special Value items.  At this particular meeting we would be reviewing items for the month of January, but since I’ll be out on maternity leave for the month of January I figured “why bother?!”  Since I had already confirmed my attendance at the meeting, I got myself together and dragged myself into the studio.

The meeting was like any other TSV meeting.  I was sitting next to Shawn Killinger who had me giggling throughout the meeting with her product commentary.  My boss was on my other side and every few minutes he kept asking “how are you feeling?” and “do you feel alright?”  After two hours the meeting was over and before I could get out of my seat my supervisor sits down next to me and asks me a question about my schedule.  As I answer him he types a few things into his phone and then asks me if everything is alright.  Hmmmm….a little odd considering we had just talked about my schedule prior to this meeting, but okay!  I finally get out of my seat but before I can take one step Shawn asks how the nursery is coming along.  I’ve put a lot of work into the nursery so I love talking about it and showing it off.  So I pull out my phone and start showing her pictures.  As Shawn “oohs” and “ahhs” we slowly start making our way out of the conference room into the host lounge.  “SURPRISE!!!”  Everyone in the meeting had gathered in the host lounge to surprise me with a baby shower.  There were pink balloons, presents and of course cake front and center.  I was truly surprised!  Leah Williams, Nancy Hornback and Courtney Cason spearheaded the committee for the baby shower and they did a great job.  From the decorations (loved the Princess balloon Courtney!) to the delicious cake (thanks Leah!) and the thoughtful presents (thanks team!) the shower really touched my heart.  One of my favorite gifts is the diaper cake from Jayne Brown and Pat James Dementri.  It is so darn cute I don’t know if I’ll be able to take it apart!!
