Hair It Is

While looking at the line-up for next week’s PM Style, I found my muse for this week’s blog. Celebrity hair stylist Chaz Dean will be on the show with his revolutionary new concept in hair care, WEN. I was introduced to WEN cleansing conditioner about five years ago when I first started my career at QVC. In those five years, my hair has gone through several transformations and you’ve had questions for me every step of the way. So I dedicate this week’s blog to answering your hair questions.

From my Facebook page, Deborah F. asks, “Is it ALL your hair Gabby? Or is some of it weaved in?”

I’m asked this question a lot. I don’t wear a weave or extensions, so every hair on my head is growing from my scalp. I certainly baby my hair and take good care of it, but a lot of it is genetics. In these photos, you'll see that over the years I’ve always sported a big bush of hair.

Mary Angel from Facebook suggests, “GO NATURAL, short and natural, that baby is coming and you won’t have time to do your hair.”

Mary Angel, I’ve been there done that. I stopped chemically processing my hair over five years ago, so I have the natural part covered. But as you can see in this photo, when I wear it short AND natural, I look just like my husband; not a good look! I do sometimes wear my hair in its natural state at this longer length (like in this photo) but it’s actually A LOT more work for me to style than if I blow dry it straight.

Poster vonlam from the QVC community pages asks, “If you don't mind, can you please share your (hair) regimen?”

I’ve had the same hair routine for the past 12 years. Once a week I visit my stylist Toni for a shampoo, deep conditioning treatment, and a roller set. I truly believe the TLC from the deep conditioning treatments has kept my hair healthy, hydrated, and strong. The roller set keeps heat styling to a minimum and I only use my flat iron for occasional touch-ups during the week. CHI makes my all-time favorite flat iron to date, and you didn’t hear it from me, but they'll have a very special styling iron available for the holidays!

Windycitychick wants to know, “What do you use for shine after blow drying?”

I'm obsessed with Alterna’s Bamboo Dry Oil Mist (A226589). It’s lightweight, hydrating, and leaves amazing shine. Also, it smells really pretty!

Well enough about me and my hair, LOL! Next week’s edition of PM Style is themed, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” The show is packed with cold-weather essentials from coats to accessories, and Bradley Bayou and George Simonton will be stopping by. And don’t forget about my Perfect Pair, a lady-like pump from Bella Vita that I hope you’ll like (A325160).

Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on Monday!

Great post. I have curly hair and do weekly rollersets as well. I agree that my hair is much easier to style with rollersets than it is when I do a wash and go. Am wishing you all the best with the upcoming birth of your baby!

Hey, Gabrielle, thanks for bringing up hair. I'm just starting to use WEN and I have noticed that it dries out my hair. Think its something that I'm doing wrong? Just started using it about 3 months ago, and congratulations on the new edition. You're almost there!!!!Smile
