Summer is Coming to an end, My Niece Abby's Visit & My a Mini Fight with Steve

Hi Ladies!!  Well I’m checking in with a quick hello and to see how you are doing.  Can you believe summer is coming to a close and that we are shopping for fall clothes?  Speaking of fall clothes bought a very cute jean jacket and a new cardigan just the other day and stocked up on some Lori Goldstein T shirts to help build by fall wardrobe.  This time of summer is a weird time of year where I know I can squeeze in a  few more weeks of my favorite summer time outfits but secretly I just want to start wearing some of the fall clothes that have been stuck in my closet with nowhere to go, lol.

So how was summer?  What did you do?  Who did you see?  And, what did you wear?  We really did have a great summer and since I updated you on most of it I’ll start from after we got back from Bermuda.  We had a wedding that weekend, the last of four, and it was a great night.  This time it was for my cousin Nick and he is the cousin who taught me all about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so to watch him get married was a little strange.  Makes me realize how much older everyone is getting.  Kind of crazy to think that the group of cousins I played dressed-up with in my grandparents basement is now all in their thirties!

After the wedding it was the start of August and the start of Inspired Style.  I hope you are watching and loving the show.  I know I love having a weekly show where we can just hang out and shop.  Please don’t feel like you have to buy, buy, buy.  I want you to know you’re welcome to just watch and gather some ideas and work in your own closet if there’s nothing new you need.  I’m just happy we get to be together.  Do you like that the models are able to speak to us too?  I’ve always had so much fun talking to them and even though I try to repeat what they say to you this works out much better.  We are still working on the timing of the show and I’m still working on how to get that peg board to move where I want it to but for the most part this is what the show will look like every week. Hope you like it!

On another personal notes, I did just wrap up two awesome days of having my niece Abby for a visit.  Now you know I’m obsessed with my nieces and drop anything and everything to have a chance to be with them so to say the least we had a great time.  She is the type of child who just wants to play pretend and I mean pretend everything.  We played school, daycare, restaurant, hair salon, and between all that played babies a million in one times, no exaggeration!  Loved every minute but was ready to throw a TV show on, go for a walk, play a board game.  I don’t think I pretended to be so many people in one day.  BTW, I play one mean teacher who yells at all the kids, it was very fun.  I do have a cute quick story.  At one point we were playing makeup artist, a scary game because she is the “artist”, and I the customer.  She asked what concealer is when she pulled it out of my makeup bag and I told her you put it on so you don’t look tired. Well Abby said, “great, I need that at night so my mom doesn’t know I’m ready for bed”.  Thought that was so cute!!

Speaking of kids, we also had my girlfriend and her three little ones up one weekend and had so much with them.  I got to eat ice cream cake too that weekend so it was a treat for all of us, lol.  After all these visits with kids Steve and are starting to think we should slow down the house decorating because if we really are serious about having babies one day(and we are) we are just going to ruin this new furniture at some point.

Other than that I don’t think anything else has happened since we last caught up.  I do have some trips planned next month to NYC and in October the Inspired Style team goes back to LA, woohoo.  Hope all is well with you and you enjoy your last days of summer whether you are wearing summer or fall clothesJ

Oh, and as usual I’m going to leave you with random Amy statements.  Here it goes.  I secretly enjoy listening to Taylor Swift’s new song, We Are Never Getting Back Together (thanks Abby).  Be prepared to see me in Animal print all fall long as I’m starting to get obsessed.   Starting to have second thoughts about growing hair out as it is already getting on my nerves.  I saw the new Bruce Makowsky fall TSV and I WANT it! And lastly, Steve and I got in a mini fight this month as the new dining room furniture arrived and I thought it was too dark and regretted ordering that color, he loved it and thought I was crazy(which I am) and was slightly angered that we had spent the money and now I didn’t love it, I finally came around to liking the color we chose, apologized for being crazy and now love our dining room furniture.  And, that was the longest sentence ever!

Okay girls. I’m headed out of the QVC building, going home to microwave leftovers, and coming back in a little bit for some late night shopping. I will see you this week for a new Inspired Style show.  I  love gold and I love Christmas but not when they take our time with each other.  See you Thursday night!!!!

Can’t wait,

Amy
